Competent, reliable youth child care providers are always in demand. In our rural area, many children care for themselves and younger siblings at home. A Child Care Clinic (CCC) will be offered for students, in 5th grade and up. This clinic provides students with knowledge and skills to care for toddlers, preschoolers and young children (not infant care). The Durand area CCC will be held January 20 at the Government Center in Durand from 9 am to 3 pm. Registration is required, and will be on a first come first serve basis with a maximum of 40 students. The $22.00 registration fee covers the cost of the Student Guide, 4-H / Army Child & Youth Services Babysitting Course Training Book. Scholarships are available.
The clinic is taught by, Kathy Dahl, R.N.; Katie Walsh, Durand-Arkansaw & Pepin School Districts Nurse; Joel Wener, Pepin County Sheriff’s Department and Marie Ritscher, 4-H Youth Development Educator, Extension Pepin County. If you have any questions, contact the Extension Office at 715-672-5214.
