Teen Court has Hearing for Disorderly Conduct

Five Buffalo/Pepin County Teen Court panel members from Alma Area School District listened to a case involving disorderly conduct of student in a different school district. Panel members asked restorative questions of the young person and their family to learn more about what happened and what they could do to make it right. Teen court referrals come from law enforcement, the juvenile judge, human services, or from school administration for violations ranging from vaping to physical violence. The purpose of the hearing process is to use peer-to-peer restorative practices to rebuild relationships and rethink behaviors.
